How does she look?

I recieved some pictures from David this morning, along with an update as to where he is with the build.

Delilah has now gone to the paint shop, after having a new passenger side rear wing, but David said that the drivers side wing that was due to be replaced also was to good to replace, so he did the welding at the bottom near the b post and also adjusted the door gap to make it good again.

September Update

The new wings have been ordered and have arrived, the engine has been run but is in desperate need of some tuning (which will get done when the head is swapped out which will be much later in the build), and she should be heading for paint by November time, but that is entirely dependent on the two cars ahead of her in the pecking order for a new colour!

So it's all proceeding as planned at the mo, and i should have some photos soon of the work starting, which will begin with the new wings going on and the rest of the car being stripped back to bare metal.

Of She Goes!

And so we begin!!

She was collected last night by David from Anglian Triumph Services, and whilst David was here, a few more things have been added to the list of things to be done to Delilah!

She is now going to have the chrome seam strips from a MKIV spitfire, she is also going to be converted to overdrive, and is also going to have a twin sports exhaust system!! The interior has also not escaped changes, as the seats will be covered in black vinyl completeley, instead of Houdstooth and vinyl, which was the original factory spec. I decided this because i want a very black interior, as i think that goes better with the burr walnut dash that is going to be installed.

The colour has also been chosen now, she is deffinatley going to be Royal Blue, as this will look fantastic with the chrome highlights that will be on her!!

Where To Start???

Well, as of the 30th August 2006, Delilah (above) will be off to David at Anglian Triumph Services for major refurbishment, including:
  • New rear wing
  • Rust treatment
  • Welding on the underside
  • New interior
  • Engine conversion to unleaded
  • New suspension
  • And the big one - a new colour!
This list could grow as time goes on, but as of next week, this blog will detail all of the work that is going to happen, and has already happened on Delilah.
